Oil on panel
12 x 15cm (4½ x 5¾ in.)
Oil on panel. Craquelure and surface dirt throughout. A horizontal line, possibly a crack to the upper quarter of the panel with associated craquelure, cupping, flaking and loss. There is some visible retouching along this damaged area. A circular drop of white paint to the upper left corner. Some scuffing and associated loss to the framing edges. Retouching and overpainting scattered throughout which is visible in natural light. Inspection under UV reveals a green cloudy varnish and some scattered retouching. The varnish may be masking the extent of retouching and overpainting.
