We are pleased to offer for auction via Catawiki a wonderful large English School early 19th Century - Portrait of a lady which is oil on canvas. The subject is half-length seated, wearing a silk bonnet and scarf with a pearl brooch, and a diamond engagement ring. The painting has been relined probably around 30 years ago and has had new stretcher bars at that time, and has been professionally restored . The paint is exceptionally stable with very limited signs of wear and is presented within a wonderful coeval gilded ornate frame .
