ROSSINI, Luigi. Serie di 23 incisioni di Antichità di Roma, stampate tra il 1819 e il 1823.
Incisioni su rame. Fogli di diverse dimensioni: 756x560 mm; 594x470 mm; 590x455 mm. Tutte le tavole sono firmate da Rossini e recano la data. Alcune riportano la numerazione, con indicazione “T.” con la quale furono poi inserite nell’opera ‘Le Antichità Romane’, pubblicata a Roma nel 1829. Sei tavole sono nella tiratura prima del numero. Alcune tavole con lievi tracce d’uso e consuete leggere fioriture sui margini, in generale buono stato di conservazione.
Luigi Rossini, 1790-1857, calcografo, pittore e architetto ravennate, studiò all'Accademia di Bologna, e si trasferì a Roma nel 1810. Deve la sua fama soprattutto alle splendide stampe che riguardano le antichità di Roma, attività cominciata nel 1814.Su richiesta disponiamo della lista dettagliata, con misure e condizioni di conservazione. Condition Report: Copper engravings. Sheets of different sizes: 756x560 mm; 594x470 mm; 590x455 mm. All the plates are signed by Rossini and bear the date. Some are numbered, with the indication "T." with which they were later included in the work “Le Antichità Romane” [The Roman Antiquities], published in Rome in 1829. Six plates are in the edition before the number. Some plates with slight traces of wear and the usual slight foxing the margins, in general good condition.
Luigi Rossini, 1790-1857, chalcographer, painter and architect from Ravenna, studied at the Academy of Bologna, and moved to Rome in 1810. He owes his fame above all to the splendid prints concerning the antiquities of Rome, an activity which began in 1814.On request we have a detailed list, with measures and conditions.
