The late Italian artist Enrico Baj was the co-founder of the Arte nucleare (Nuclear Art) movement in Milan, which was a reaction to the industrialism of the atomic age by using kitchy fabrics, colorful collage and absurdist subjects. Its members included Asper Jorn, Yves Klein and Pierro Manzoni. In 1971, Baj had a retrospective at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.
