The painting is in satisfactory condition.
It has been relined.
The tension of the canvas is stiff.
The support is sound and stable.
The paint layer is in satisfactory condition.
It does not show loss or uplift.
Former open craquelures, now restored, are visible on the pillow on the left, in the upper part of the composition.
A slight vertical dirt stain is visible in the centre of the painting.
The varnish is slightly yellow and dirty.

Under UV light
The reading under UV light is made difficult by the thick varnish.
We can observe some minor retouches on the filled-in craquelures.
