Ernesto Gazzeri (Italian, 1866 - 1965)

Bronze sculpture of a young Pan atop a column with a lizard below, on square base, signed "E. Gazzeri" with foundry mark to the side "Fond: Art Lagana Napoli" to side of base.

Provenance: from the estate Estate of Caesar Grasselli, who commissioned the piece directly from the artist. Lot is accompanied by a photo of Caesar Grasselli with the artist in 1909, and three signed photographs of the artist's work with a personal note to each which reads, "To Cari C. A. Grasselli with kindest souvenirs Ernesto Gazzeri, Rome June 1918"; "To [?] Ida Grasselli with compliments of Ernesto Gazzeri Rome June 1918"; "To [?] Josephine Grasselli with compliments Ernesto Gazzeri Rome June 1918".

Condition: Overall good with typical age patina, base has been weighted.
