Errico Placido (1909-1983) - Il riposo dei pescatori

Unmissable oil work by the artist Errico Placido who, from a very young age, followed the master Luigi Crisconio in his wanderings between the Vesuvian countryside and the Gulf of Naples.
The master was surprised by the fury with which his young pupil created a landscape en plei air.
Placido was a painter of great instinct, he soon detached himself from any influence of the master Crisconio and from the southern tradition, finding his own poetic world and achieving his own unique and personal style.

The work proposed for auction created in the seventies depicts a suggestive sea view with fishermen in the foreground intent on enjoying a bit of rest after the tiring fishing just concluded, a work which, in addition to being very pleasant, appears to be of excellent workmanship and quality pictorial
After careful examination, the painting is in fair general condition with some marks or grooves as can be seen from the photos, for which subsequent complaints are not accepted.
