Ersari Engsi - tent curtain - 200 cm - 133 cm
Hatschlou, this word means cross in Turkmenian. These rugs were put in front of the entrance of the yurt, their tents. This one is over a 100 years old. Very nice to hang on a wall again. This is more than a floor covering - this is an item of cultural significance. Women knotted their rugs with them (Ersari nomads) . This one is from the Engsi, a sub-tribe. Beautiful soft plant-based colours. Not washed yet. Pristine, except for a few tears.
