Escuela Flamenca - Paisaje Con Puente
\Artist: Escuela Flamenca
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 103_5_115_cm
Tobias Verhaecht is documented in the period 1590-1591 when he registered as a master in the guild of St. Luke of Antwerp. A member of a family of art dealers, it is likely that in previous years he had travelled through Italy, as some topographical drawings testify. Back in Antwerp he immediately reached a high level of professional prestige. He was Rubens' first teacher, around 1592, and in his workshop worked some landscape painters of relative importance, such as Jacques Backereel, Cornelis Bol, Pieter van der Hoeck and Abraham Matthyssens. In 1594 he worked with Marten de Vos on the ephemeral decorations for the entry into Antwerp of Archduke Ernest of Austria, of whose court he was painter. The images are part of the description. Check the photos carefully before bidding. Custom duties and VAT are borne by the buyer.
