Escuela española (XIX) - Naturaleza muerta con gran cuenco chino

[ translate ]

- Oil on canvas - Spanish School - 1800/1850- Spain
Beautiful painting that imitates European still lifes from the 16th and 17th centuries, where porcelain imported from China takes center stage as a luxury element.
An elegant and sober painting, of great artistic and decorative value.

The work is arranged on a 19th century frame, the fact that the fabric has been attached to the frame with nails indicates the age of this magnificent work.
Oil composed of a bowl with different fruits arranged in the foreground, placed on a table invisible to the viewer.
Stuccoed and gilded wooden frame covered with Gold Leaf.
Classic in style, rooted in the Spanish tradition of the genre, with a clear and orderly composition and an expressive treatment of light, which produces expressive shadows and enhances the volume of the different fruits.

The work is in a good state of conservation with some marks typical of the age of the piece, look at the photographs, they are almost imperceptible, very small.
Minimal flaws considering that it is very old. In original condition.

In the first part of the 18th century, still lifes lived off the ideas of the previous period; On the other hand, in the second half of the century there was a clear development dominated by the figure of Luis Meléndez and other painters, who created series of still lifes endowed with a perfection, beauty and balance that they turned into true masterpieces.
Spanish painters such as Thomás Hyepes, Barrera, Loarte, or Van der Hamen testify to the reality of international trade in the Modern Age in similar compositions, where the fruits of the Spanish countryside adorn pieces of Chinese ceramics.

- Frameless image dimensions: 45. 5 x 60. 5 cm / 53. 3 x 68. 2 cm with beautiful Gold Leaf frame
- Comes from a private collection in Madrid.
It will be packaged with great care and shipped as best as possible.
