Etruscan Bucchero Trefoil Oinochoe

Classical World, Southern Italy, Etruria, ca. 6th century BCE. A lovely wheel-thrown pottery oinochoe with a flat base, an apple-shaped lower body, a lightly-grooved shoulder with a tapering neck, a flared trefoil-shaped spout, and an applied strap handle joining rim to midsection. The vessel has been covered in lustrous jet-black glaze. Size: 4.2" W x 7.5" H (10.7 cm x 19 cm).

Provenance: private East Coast, USA collection; ex-William Froelich collection, New York, USA, acquired in the 1960s to 1990s
