Etruscan Bucchero Trefoil Oinochoe

Classical World, Southern Italy, Etruria, ca. 6th century BCE. A lovely wheel-thrown pottery oinochoe with a flat base, an apple-shaped lower body, a lightly-grooved shoulder with a tapering neck, a flared trefoil-shaped spout, and an applied strap handle joining rim to midsection. The vessel has been covered in lustrous jet-black glaze. Size: 4.2" W x 7.5" H (10.7 cm x 19 cm).

Condition Report: Repair to handle, rim of spout, and one section of lower body, with resurfacing over break lines. Significant overpainting along entire vessel, with minor abrasions and nicks to body, base, handle, and spout. Light earthen deposits within interior.
