Etruscan Ceramic FALISCAN OINOCHOE - 29.5×13×13 cm - (1)

A very rare etruscan beaked oinochoe Gnathia type ( Imitation) with superb black gloss and white and yellow polychomy. The body decorated with a wide register featuring a berried ivy leaf vine framed by two parallel lines. Neck decorated with vegetal motifs. Beaked Oinochoe - Shape VII wine jug, with long neck and trilobata spout. Dated stylistically to the late 4th/early 3rd c. BC. It is a very rare example. Most of etruscan faliscan vases imitate Apulian style. Reference: Similar examples may be found on display at the Museo Nazionale Etrusco di Villa Giulia, Rome, Italy and National Archaeological Museum Florence, Italy ( inv 4380) Provenance: J. G. E Private Collection. Madrid. Acquired at A Belgian Auction House in 2019. Formerly Belgian Private Collector. The piece includes Authenticity certificate of F. Coene ( Brussels, 2009) .
