A beautiful Art Deco/ cubist composition representing a male nude holding an apple, probably depicting the "Judgement of Paris". Beautiful composition and atmosphere, the artist depicted the man as a sculpture-like figure, his physique perfectly rendered. Unsigned but unquestionably the work of a confident artist from the first half of the 20th century, probably ca. 1930-1940's. Gouache and watercolour on paper. 23,3 X 17,5 cm 27 X 21 cm framed Overall good condition with some foxing and the paper with discolouration consistent with age. Framed in a carved wooden frame. Overall a beautiful and very interesting painting that would look fantastic in any interior.
