Very large portrait painting of Emperor William II of Germany. He wears the parade uniform with many orders and medals. According to the attached documents of a German safe house, the painting is by Hans Petrie and dated 1915. In a beautiful wooden frame with inlay wood and with a bronze heading. The painting is best cleaned and possibly restored if necessary. The last German Emperor Wilhelm II was born Frederik Wilhelm Victor Albert in the Crown Prince's Palace on the Unter den Linden in Berlin on January 27, 1859. Wilhelm was born as the eldest son of the future Emperor Frederick III and his consort Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, daughter of the British Queen Victoria. He was a grandson of Kaiser Wilhelm I on his father's side and a grandson of the English Queen Victoria on his mother's side.
