Europese school (XVIII) - Jezus draagt het kruis bij Golgotha

Painting depicts the torture of Jesus carrying his cross on the hill of Golgotha near Jerusalem. This is a 17th century oil painting on canvas in a simple 17th century frame.
Presumably created by a 17th century Italian artist.

The condition of the painting is fair.
The canvas has previously been restored. A large tear has been repaired.
The varnish of the canvas is discolored and quite dirty. Flakes have come loose from the canvas. There is a small tear (1cm) at the bottom right of the canvas.
A new layer of varnish would be desirable.
The frame of the canvas probably comes from the same period as the canvas.
The painting was purchased at auction, no further information is known.
No visible signature was found.
