The painting is framed and signed at the bottom right. Evencio Cortina Echevarría is a painter born in Getxo, Bizkaia. He is prone to the landscape genre and to watercolour, although all kinds of pictorial themes and techniques (oil, drawing and mixed media) can be found in his extensive career. The dense visions of the coast where the Bilbao Ria empties into, between the industrial and the marine, are an obvious constant feature in his artistic career. His first individual exhibition was in 1973, in Bilbao. He has also exhibited his works in Madrid, Barcelona, Santander, San Sebastián, Valencia, Córdoba, Irún, Bayona, etc. He obtained the 1996 First Premio Nacional de Acuarela Caja Madrid and the 1997 First Premio Nacional Gaudí, among other awards, and he has a significant presence in museums and private collections. He belongs to the Agrupación de Acuarelistas Vascos, of which he was president in 1992. Please note: The painting will not be sent to Taiwan because it contains wood.
