[ translate ]

Evert Sodergren (1920-2013 Washington) ''Sculptured Chair'' 1955 Walnut and Black Leather 28''x28''x25''. Designed in 1953 Evert's chair would become one of the most iconic furniture designs to come out of the Northwest. This chair is branded on verso underside and dated 1955 making it a very early production. An example can be found in the Smithsonian and this form has been exhibited in nearly every major Northwest Craft and Design exhibition to date. Some minor edge loss to front feet edge and one small brass pin connecting the back cushion to the body has been replaced. Overall excellent original condition with all of its original hardware and coverings. This chair, as well as other designs by Sodergren, should be considered as important as his contemporaries Sam Maloof and George Nakashima.
