Ewen Henderson (British, 1934-2000) Sack Vessel Lava glazed earthenware 15-3x4 x 11-1x2 x 6 inches (40.0 x 29.2 x 15.2 cm) Ewen Henderson was a pioneering artist who established new methods of working in clay by and creating complex forms with subtle coloration and dynamic surfaces with a wide variety of textures. His work can be found in the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Australian National Gallery in Canberra, the Kyoto Museum of Modern Art and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
