Ewer, Large richly worked pourer (1) - .800 silver - Italy - Second half 20th century

Magnificent and impressive large sized vase in Italian solid silver, richly decorated with different kind of chiselling and engraving. The upper part has a twisted ribbed pattern followed by an openwork band. In its centre, the body is decorated with fantasy animals and plants, engraved by hand. The lower part shows a rusticated pattern and the very same twisted ribbed pattern of the upper part. The vase rests one animal paw shaped feet. The decorated handle has been embellished with a female face. High quality Italian item. Hallmarks: 800, “cesellato a mano” (= hand chiselled) , 1387 AL. Height: 38 cm. Total weight: 961 grams.
