Ex voto - Wood - 1850-1900

Ex voto or grace received from the end of the 19th century (1892) oil painting on wood. It is (see subject) an offering made by a fisherman to Jesus Christ (applied bronze image) through intercession, saving his life from a violent storm at sea. Typical object of Italian popular religiosity, where the faithful, after an alleged miracle, often commissioned this type of work from local painters, narrating the gesture or the alleged miracle. The painting measures 44x28 cm, the event dates back to 1892. Due to current regulations it cannot be shipped outside the European Union.
