Excavations at the archaeological site in the province of Sindh, Pakistan. Built around 2500 BCE, it was one of the largest settlements of the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation, and one of the world's earliest major cities, contemporaneous with the civilizations of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Minoan Crete, and Norte Chico. Formerly in the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, with bequest bookplate, a few discrete rubberstamps (including withdrawal), a few other markings.
Condition Report: Some shelf wear; foxing to endpapers; plate volume with hinges cracking, a few plates loose; about very good.
