Exceptional, large, and delicate Serapi
Wool velvet on a cotton backing.
A brick-red field features a design of interlacing branches, palmettes, flowers, and geometrically stylized, multicolored foliage framing a large central medallion in midnight blue, lilac, and ivory, featuring a composition of star-shaped flowers arranged in the form of stylized diamonds.
Four ivory spandrels featuring polychrome geometric floral bulbs form the background. Triple borders, the main one ruby red, are decorated with rows of panels shaped like stylized turtle shells.
