Exquisite 19th Century Arthur Waagen (as known German, 1833-1898) Orientalist Kabyle Hunter Patinated Bronze Group Sculpture on a separate rotary carved wooden Base. About Artist: ARTHUR WAAGEN, Born: 1833 - East Prussia (Lithuania), Died: 1898 - France. Arthur Waagen was a well-respected animal sculptor who worked in the mid-19th century. Very little is known about his life. His most famous work is the large hunt group titled Kabayle au Retour de la Chasse of a North African horseman with his dogs and prey. He also created several smaller groups of Greyhounds, one playing with a Persian cat and another playing with a King Charles Spaniel. Total size (Statue & Base): H 78" x 34" x 18"
