Madagascar is located in a geologically active zone, where several tectonic plates meet and collide. This tectonic movement led to the formation of numerous faults and fracture zones in the underlying rocks. Volcanic activity in the region also contributed to the formation of magma deposits and intrusive rocks, which were subsequently subjected to high pressures and temperatures during the process of regional metamorphism.
