Extremely rare pair of German WWII 7x50 U-Boat binoculars, first model stamped with manufacturer code BLC for Carl Zeiss, numbered 2160518 and 38704, stamped with a eagle and swastika and M, IV/1. with rubber eyepiece coveres and leather strap. Dimensions: 20.5cm longCondition Report The binoculars show signs of a hard-working life. The rubber eyepiece covers have both detached from the central spine and the leather strap has broken. The finish has many losses and wear. The rubber covers at the front of the binoculars are cracking around the edges. Looking at the Ocualar lenses, the right and lens has a scratch to the surface, outside this i cannot see any obvious damage or blooming. The large lenses both have internal streak lines on the left hand side, these lines criss-cross from side to side, on the right hand side, the mark is an oval shape. Two extra images have been uploaded to try and illustrate this. There are some small spots that can be seen inside both large lenses, this could be fungus. Both screws on the top plates turn and the lenses can be seen moving up and down. The right hand screw fitting is a non-matching replacement. Please register to request a condition report
