Ezan - A pair of French art deco wall lights, sconces

[ translate ]

EZAN A beautiful pair of French art deco wall sconces around 1930-35. Polished solid brass mounts hold leaf shaped slip shades in molded-pressed glass. The shades have a frosted structured surface on the inside giving them a vivid appearance. Both shades are signed Ezan france. Ezan was a large glass manufactory in the town of Ezanville a little north from Paris. In the mid 30ies it became wellknown for its glassware in bluish opalescent semi-crystal like we can often see on for instance Charles Ranc or Henri Petitot chandeliers of the late thirties. I wasn't able to find out which company made the fixtures of these sconces. But they exist in several versions: copper plated brass, copper plated spelter, polished brass and nickeled brass. The wall lights are about 34 cm high and 20 cm wide. They are in very good condition. One tiny chip on the rim of one shade which is hidden by the mounting. I have cleaned and polished the brass mounts. And they come rewired. Right now they hold their old B22 bayonet sockets. But I will replace them for European E14 ones so you will have no difficulties finding suitable electrical bulbs for them. For the US or Japan I will place with US candelabra base ones. Safe packaging guaranteed : As specialized restorer of French art Deco lighting for over 20 years I ship my parcels worldwide with the fragile items well protected and fully insured.
