Inscription: lower left signed in the printing plate: "Dessiné et Gravé par F. Piranesi L'an 1805". At the lower part inscribed in the printing plate: "Outils de Macons et d'Agriculteurs trouves à Pompeia".

Date: 1805

Description: The engraving shows a compilation of Roman tools from the ruins of Pompeii, skilfully arranged on a dark background. The detailed elaboration creates a vivid testimony to ancient craftsmanship.

Condition: Rather good condition. There is a full-page vertical crease in the centre. Isolated pale stains along the edges. Long crease or crush marks on the right margin of the sheet. Browning along the upper edge of the sheet. Diagonal printer's crease in upper right. Visible abrasion of the folded print in the print.
