Circa 1835 Chipboard Lozenge Shaped Hatbox by Henry Cushing of Providence, with block printed decoration in five colors, featuring ships and a lighthouse on top, captioned "(S)ANDY HOOK", with geometric banded edge; the lower portion having a continuous frieze of hunters in tricorn hats, with horses and hounds, 10" x 15" x 11 1/2". Minor wear and soiling, a remarkable survivor.
