Handsome Mahogany Stand, probably Boston, marked "1816" inside top drawer, with overhanging hinged top concealing an adjustable inclined wine velvet writing surface, ink bottle and pen compartments, lock with key, two graduated drawers below with original pressed brass rosette pulls, all fascias and stiles inlaid with bird's-eye maple, beaded lower edge to case, ring and urn turned legs having a thin shaped lower shelf, resting on short turned legs with brass cup casters. 29" x 20 1/4" x 17 3/4". Top has crack, is slightly bowed, shelf has crack.
