FENG ZIKAI (1898-1975)
Dimensions: 41 cm x 28 cm
An album of small ink-and-colour drawings mounted on patterned textile boards, each leaf presenting a concise scene with figures, animals or everyday objects. The images are deliberately economical: a few controlled lines define a shoe, a standing figure, a domestic interior, birds among branches or a grazing animal, while short inscriptions and red seals complete the compositions. The restrained palette and generous blank paper give each vignette an immediate, intimate quality.
The album is visually unified by sparse brushwork, intimate scale and gentle narrative humour, each leaf offering a self-contained observation.
