FERN Artist: Judy Randle Fern was inspired by walks through Sheffield’s ancient woodlands. As the seasons change, the lioness prowls amongst the trees. The falling leaves rustle underfoot, the snow appears and then, with warmer weather, the tall trees burst into leaf. In the distance, you can see the seven hills on which the city is built and flowing round the sculpture is one of the five rivers that run from the moors through the city. This lioness celebrates the wonderful green and wild places in South Yorkshire.
