FICHET - S.I.F.C.A - Giovanni Pistono & C. Torino - Strongbox - Iron (cast/wrought)

FICHET Safe-Piggy Bank - SIFCA Turin F. lli Pistono & C.
It is a piggy bank, which reproduces a safe, produced under FICHET Paris license, by SIFCA of Turin in the period from 1920 to 1940. The address of the factory headquarters, present on the front face of the same, is where it was produced . . The historic headquarters was then sold in the early 1940s to Pastiglie Leone of which it is still the historic headquarters.
It is most likely an advertising object that was given as a gift with the purchase of a safe, or, as indicated in some historical advertising documents, it was sold as a piggy bank to be given to children.
The item is in perfect condition considering its age. The lock, key and engravings are absolutely original. Even if slightly discolored by time and oxidized, the object retains its function and elegance intact.
There is a hole, as visible from the photos, on the right side of the safe which suggests that it was used as an offertory and therefore served for the insertion of a pin/or chain.
From what I know, only two models exist, but I don't take this for granted given that in Turin they were produced under license, one with writing in French and this one in Italian.
