Most of the photographic illustrations were by the great mountain photographer, Vittoria Sella. First published in Italian the same year. AN UNUSUALLY SOUND COPY, as most copies of this edition are found rebound or rebacked (or with contents shaken loose) due to the fragile nature of the gutta percha used in the original binding.
