FINE CASED PARIS LEFAUCHEUX REVOLVER
SERIAL NUMBER 9018. BARREL 3.5". CALIBER 7MM PINFIRE. These arms were the only non-percussion revolvers purchased for issue by either side during the Civil War. In addition, the LeFaucheux was the first sidearm issued by the U.S. Army that used internally-primed ammunition. Those actually made in Paris are the finest quality and were very reliable arms treasured around the world. This example is a six shot, double action, blue finish, walnut grips with folding trigger. Lefaucheux Paris stamped on barrel. Condition. Fine gun display about 90% original blue on cylinder and thinning to bluish patina on balance with sharp legends, excellent stocks and fine bore. Hammer works fine but cylinder does not currently index. Comes in period French fitted wood case. A
