FINE FEDERAL GRAIN-PAINTED AND INCISED-PINWHEEL-DECORATED PINE AND MAPLE CHEST OF DRAWERS, VERMONT, CIRCA 1820

Retains a paper label from the Springfield Republican dated July 31, 1966 from Calvin P Call Auctioneer in Colrain, Massachusetts August 6, 1966, from the estate of Ethel Nickles.

Height 42 in. by Width 42 ½ in by Depth 18 ½ in.

Condition Report:
Overall fine condition retaining a rich patina. Wear, discoloration, and losses to edges consistent with age and use. The hinges are replaced and there are resulting 1 in. by 5 in. patches along the back end of the top. Some chip losses to the side of the feet consistent with handling. The proper left central drop of the apron is patched approximately 2 in. in height. Front center of the top has a 1/2 in. circular hole that may be consistent with having previously had a lock mechanism that is now lacking.
