Ford Ruthling, American, 1933 to 2015, watercolor and graphite painting on paper. Close-up of a female nude. Signed and dated 1965 lower left. Titled Blue Female Torso on the backside. Framed. Ford Ruthling studied art at the University of New Mexico with Randall Davey. After a lengthy tour of duty in the military, he became the curator of exhibitions at the Museum of International Folk Art under Alexander Girard. The Mexican and New Mexican crafts which surrounded Ruthling developed in him a love of nature.
