Vermeil. Sculptural handle in the form of an armoured herm bust, merging directly into a ring-shaped ferrule, the octagonal stem terminating in three curved tines or a broad bowl, respectively. The reverse engraved with the elaborate coat of arms from the patrician family Burckhardt in Basel, the shield bearing the initial S and a cross.
