67 original photographs, a very high quality ensemble showing the temples of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom, seemingly from Fournereau's Mission of 1887. There are wonderful images of the colonial Frenchmen in uniform posing in the temple complex, while other capture the architecture from all angles. The pictures also cover sociological ground, ranging from 3 portraits of a princess, prince and governor, through to group shots of the Cambodian porters. Other images depict the departure of the travellers, ablutions in camp, and the equipping of the expedition.

Oblong quarto ( 270 x 380mm). 67 mounted albumen prints, various sizes ranging from 220 x 275mm, through 167 x 216mm to 128 x 173mm, some larger and smaller (occasional light spotting, a few prints faded, some unevenly). Contemporary leather-backed cloth-covered boards, gilt edges (short splits to joints, extremities rubbed).
