Catalogue Note:
As a celebration of 30 years of exceptional watchmaking, F.P. Journe created the present wristwatch as a limited edition of 99 pieces to commemorate the creation of his first pocket watch in 1983.

Cased in a same material used 30 years ago, it is crafted in pink gold and silver. The hinged case reveals a sapphire crystal back showcasing the tourbillon and twin barrel movement of classic construction made in grained and gilded brass, identical to the pocket watch. Only the escapement was different: the wristwatch was fitted with a lateral pallet escapement that is more suitable for a wristwatch, instead of the detent escapement found in the pocket watch.

The highest attention was paid to every detail of the Anniversary Tourbillon, such as the grainé dial that was made with the highly regarded gravé emaillé technique. That method requires the highest skills for a perfect execution and the production cost of these dials was so high that it was progressively abandoned in the 1960’s, even by the most luxurious manufactures, such as Patek Philippe. With the T-30 wristwatch, Mr. Journe resurrected this technique, testifying the unparalleled know-how of the finest Swiss watchmakers.

The 1983 pocket watch was not only FP Journe first watch, but it was also a tourbillon. This explains the key importance of the complication for the watchmaker. Furthermore, the choice of the complication placed him in the path of its inventor, A. B. Breguet, who was considered as an inspiration by F. P. Journe. Furthermore, one could see the influence of Dr. G. Daniels on the original creations of Mr. Journe. The mutual respect and high esteem of the two watchmakers transpires in these early pocket watches.

The T-30 Tourbillon Anniversaire was presented in October 2013 in Tokyo. This release coincided with the 10 year celebration of the opening of the first F.P. Journe boutique.

This very rare timepiece is a true statement and celebration of F.P. Journe's history and of the finest production of horology.

It is a watch that is filled with history and significance for the brand.
