inscribed 'A View taken from Oatlands the seat of his Grace the Duke of/ Newcastle/ January the 22nd. 1782 settled with Michael Sanders Esq. this picture/ the size to be 3 foot 8 inches by 2 foot 8 inches to have twenty five guineas for it' (verso) and with inscription '184 BP' (verso, under the mount)
