FRANCO LAGINI (ITALIAN, 20TH CENTURY) FIGURAL CHIMPANZEE SILVER-PLATED BRASS CHAMPAGNE / WINE COOLER, form of a sitting ape / chimpanzee featuring arms crossed with one hand raised to its chin and feet crossed in front, hinged lid of the head with glass eyes conceals an open interior, likely lacking interior insert. Impressed to base with artist's signature above "MADE IN ITALY", in addition to original label in Italian. Second half 20th century. 15 3/4" HOA, 5 3/4" x 6 1/4" OA rim.
Condition Report: Good to very good visual condition with significant losses to silver, some wear, surface scratches, nicks, and dents, some possible solder repairs including to eyes, at least one split to head at proper right ear, likely lacking interior insert.
