FRANÇOIS VAN DER BURCH (1567-1644)
Autograph letter signed 23 x 16 cm 1pp Founder of many charitable foundations, van der Burch was a clergyman originally from Ghent, whose ecclesiastical path started as minister of Arras Cathedral, vicar general of the diocese of Arras, and archdeacon of the archdiocese of Mechelen. In 1612 he was appointed bishop of Ghent, and, in 1616, archbishop of Cambrai.
