[ translate ]

FRANÇOIS-XAVIER LALANNE
"PIGEON" TABLE LAMP

designed 1991
number 738 from an edition of 900
bronze, patinated copper, glass
inscribed F and E and numbered 738/900
8⅝ x 11¼ x 5½ in. (21.8 x 28.5 x 13.9 cm)

Condition Report:
Overall in good condition. The patinated copper presents with some scattered and very light scratches that are consistent with age and gentle handling. The copper presents with areas of minor oxidation and darkening to the patina throughout resulting in rich color variations ranging from burnt sienna to dark brown. The bronze head and feet display a similar range of bright hues consistent with minor oxidation and the natural evolution of the medium. The opaque glass shade appears intact and presents with very light surface scratches under the pigeon’s beak that are consistent with gentle use and not visible when the lamp is lit up. Sotheby's does not guarantee electrical components and suggests having all wiring inspected by a licensed electrician.
