Condition Report:
Overall in good condition. This iconic and playful table lamp model by François-Xavier Lalanne displays a combination of rich and textural tones ranging from bright silver to darker greys. As pictured in the catalogue photography, the silver surface presents with scattered areas of darkening throughout most visible on the face and waist of the monkey and consistent with age and natural evolution of the silver. The silver presents with areas of very light corrosion to the surface concentrated to the waist and proper left shoulder and not visually distracting. The frosted glass presents with an irregular surface that is inherent to production. Sotheby's does not guarantee electrical components and suggests having all wiring inspected by a licensed electrician.
