FREE-BLOWN AND PRESSED WHALE OIL STAND LAMP, colorless, bulb-form font, raised on a Lion Head, S-Scroll, and Shell square base terminating in paw feet, base interior ribbed to lower edge, ringed wafer construction. Fitted with a period tin and cork double-tube drop-in burner. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. and probably others. 1828-1835.
Condition: Virtually proof with expected roughness and flaking to the base edge, probably as made.
Size: 10 3/4" H to top of mouth, 4" SQ base.
