FREE-BLOWN, ENGRAVED, AND PRESSED WHALE OIL STAND LAMP, colorless, globular font with drape and tassel decoration, raised on a shouldered hollow-knop and a triple-step square base with two lobbed tiers and plain foot, bladed wafer construction, period pewter collar. Fitted with a later brass double-tube burner. Probably New England. 1835-1840.
Condition: Proof. Expected light roughness to the interior of the base edge, scattered annealing lines to the base, all as made.
Size: 9 1/2" H to top of collar, 3" SQ base.
