FREE-BLOWN SPARKING WHALE OIL HAND LAMP, colorless, compressed globular form with applied solid handle having three crimps and a curl to the lower terminal, slight kick-up base with rough pontil mark. Fitted with a period tin and cork single-tube drop-in burner marked "PATENT". Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. and others. 1820-1840.
Condition: Proof. Spalling in association with the pontil mark, as made.
