Title: FRENCH ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER SOUP / STEW TUREEN (DAM) !!
Description:

Direct from Versailles - Another Amazing Find, A Magnificent French Antique Covered Sterling Silver Soup / Stew Tureen in Excellent Condition, circa 1870s. A Beautifully Elegant Piece, Outstanding Value for Money and A Very Solid Investment, A True Family Heirloom for Generations, Luxury and Quality Reserved for the French Aristocracy. Traditional 19th Century French Quality and Craftsmanship and No Monograms on Any of the Pieces, Another Rarity - Grace, Elegance, and Sophistication Unparalleled Today and Destined for the Discerning Family.

This is a magnificent piece and is typical of the luxury and elegance of 19th Century France, La Belle Epoque. The tureen measures roughly 41 cm. across to the tips of the handles; the interior has a diameter of 25 cm.; it stands approximately 30cm. high to the top of the lid; is roughly 14 cm. deep; and weights an amazing 2.273 kilograms. Each piece bears the French government's Head of the Minerva-1 hallmark certifying a minimum of 950 sterling silver and the manufacturer's hallmark "DAM". I haven't been able to trace the manufacturer's hallmark, which is common for some 19th century marks - especially for silversmiths that worked for the larger houses (Puiforcat, Cardeilhac, Odiot, etc) who did privately commissioned work. They would not necessarily register their personal hallmark. This is truly a magnificent piece and comparable in quality to pieces produced by Cardeilhac, Puiforcat and other premier French silversmiths. The piece comes with its own anti-tarnish wrap for easy storage. Bid with confidence and enjoy 100% buyer protection. Free shipping is offered via FedEx.
