FRENCH CHASSEPOT 11mm RIFLE MODEL 1866-74
SN 30471. 32.5" barrel bolt action, single shot rifle in 11mm. Made by the French Manufacture de Armes de St. Etienne (MAS) this was a standard infantry rifle beginning in 1866 and converted to accept metallic cartridges after the Franco-Prussian War. Breech loading Chassepot bolt fires one round at a time. Features smooth wood stock, ladder rear sight, right-side muzzle bayonet lug, and includes cleaning rod. All numbers on bolt, rifle, and bayonet lug match, rod has a different serial number. Action flawless, bore near mint, finish approximately 96% with light wear at the receiver and minor age and storage wear to the stock. Excellent
