FRENCH LOUIS XV STYLE DOUBLE DROP FRONT PARTNERS DESK, 20TH C. H 48", L 38", D 36"

After the original by Bernard II Van Risen Burgh currently in the Paul-Getty Museum, Malibu. Having intricate marquetry and fruitwood floral inlaid design. Gilt bronze mounts adorn Drawers, rails, knees and feet. Sides adorned with classical gilt bronze crests over scalloped edge rails in gilt bronze. Drop fronts open to reveal five letter slot flanked by two sets of three scalloped drawers with bronze pulls. Original illustrated in Le Moblier Francais Du XVII Siecle p.130.
Condition: In a remarkable state of preservation. Very little veneer needs attention. No evidence of damage, repairs, or additions. When compared to interior woods, it is apparent that the case, drawers, and fronts have lightened due to sun exposure.
